Ylang Ylang is a musical result of the writing, recording, and production from Martin Langlands, with help from his musical friends. Martin is based in New Zealand's South Island and delights in producing original, diverse musical electronica. Martins musical journey began in the early "pre Digital" 80's. Analogue synthesisers, drum machines (808!!) Reel-to-Reel tape loops, guitars, sequencers and found objects were all experimented with and developed into imaginative music. Thus this expressive Ylang Ylang electronica has evolved with unique sounds and production experience from the past, and new sounds of the future utilising today's amazing technology.

Ylang Ylang’s music is inspired and from absorbing New Zealands wonderful Landscapes and lush natural history. A huge endless fascination with nature flows into my musical forms as does a wide range of elements such as spirituality , mythology , space , the future , the past, people and places , science and science fiction , emotions , sensations , visual art etc… so I feel it is most important that this music communicates all these………and more………..
