Creating music that is appropriate to particular "scenes" or "situations" is a strong passion of mine. My aim is to create an atmosphere, subtle, yet interesting enough to captivate. I have a dynamic range of highly original music, sounds, and sound sets available for filmmakers, animators, websites, art galleries etc. |

| This was a COLLABORATION TO FORM AN EXHIBITION-GALLERY ATMOSPHERE THAT IS AS STIMULATING TO THE MIND AS TO THE EYE AND EAR..held at Selwyn Gallery 2001. It combined Talents of Canterbury Artist Paul Francis Drake, and Martin Langlands .Paul paints on an intuitive level dealing with diverse imagery subjects like water volcanoes planets elements magnetic fields . His works arrive "not by a conscious imitation but like a process of "stream of consciousness" Reflecting this I composed and produced a multi dimensioned sound scape that played 4 separate layers in random synthesis . |

The Resulting Ambient CD from this gallery sound scape was Family Galaxiidae |
| REVIEW…"A SENSORY APPRECIATION" Martin's sound scapes are perfect accompaniment
to Paul Drake's work bringing them to life: Their colour movement and vitality.
The music written/ recorded by Martin blends a mix of SYNTHESISERS,SAMPLERS,
VOCALS,GUITARS AND COLLECTED SOUNDS. The aim was to enhance the atmosphere with in the
gallery and this was achieved effectively by the use of two separate but related CDs
that played on two separate stereos in the gallery at the same time. The two CDs, one
comprising of 33 indexed thematic tracks, the other with 64 indexed textural tracks
both played on random mode , resulting in a sound that is both unpredictable and unique.
The sound of silence played an integral part of the sound scape; The serenity
and simplicity of nature juxtaposed with the chaotic temperament of creation. |
